A post-nuclear Montana RPG that runs right in your browser. Scavenge the wasteland, collect the cards, mind your karma — and whatever you do, don't miss the Loser Lottery.
Fuel the Real-World Wasteland
RadTana is free to play — forever, no catch. If it's earned a coffee, both doors below go straight to Taylor Lasch, the man who built it. No email address exposed, no funny business — and a tip is never required to play.
The Game
Montana, after the fall
RadTana is an isometric RPG set in a Montana that never recovered. You wake up in the Long Dusk with nothing but your wits, a karma ledger the wasteland actually keeps, and a radio station that never quite goes off the air.
The Wasteland
Towns, casinos, church-cellar shelters, a junkyard where legends get built — and weather that can blind you mid-journey. Every road out here costs something.
The Cards
RadTana is a card game at heart — collectible cards for the people, places, and legends of the fall. Chase the foils, complete the sets, and show off your favorites in the forum.
Whole Wheat Radio
Billy Bob Whole Wheat keeps the wasteland company around the clock — dozens of instrumental tracks across red-dirt, folk, and desert-ambient lanes, with the only voice on the dial being his.
The Loser Lottery
The Fall's favorite spectacle. Buy in with stamps — yes, stamps are money out here — and pray your number isn't the one the wheel loves most.
Karma Is Real
The wasteland remembers what you do. Mercy and cruelty both compound, the dogs are sacred and untouchable, and some choices follow you to the end of the Long Dusk.
Built to Grow
RadTana is a living project — new systems, events, and cards land in waves. The beta you're playing today is the current build, updated in place. Your saves ride along.
Current Beta
What's in this build
The video-free public build — the same one the developers play. It loads fast, plays on a phone or a desktop, and it's the version every forum thread below is talking about.
- Full game, whole screen. Hit Play anywhere on this site and RadTana takes over the page — no pop-ups, no new tab unless you want one.
- Combat that ends. The latest repair fixed the kill chain for good — damage lands, enemies fall, loot drops, XP counts.
- The radio is stocked. 32 instrumental tracks in rotation, licensed and credited in the game's credits.
- Report what you find. Bugs and suggestions go straight into the forum threads the developers actually read.
Prefer the playtest in its own tab? Here's the direct link — the same current build the Play button loads: Open the video-free playtest ↗
Community
The RadTana Forum
Four boards, one rule: be the kind of survivor you'd want at your campfire. The admin keeps the peace, moderators keep the threads tidy, and the developers read everything.
How moderation works here
Admin — Taylor. Owns the forum outright. He can pin, lock, and remove anything, and he appoints or removes moderators himself, any time, without going through the developers.
Moderators. Appointed through Taylor AI at the admin's request. Mods keep threads on-topic, pin the good stuff, and remove what doesn't belong at the campfire.
Moderator roster
Want to help keep the wasteland civil? Earn your spurs in the threads — appointments happen from the roster, not from applications.
Support the Wasteland
RadTana is free. Keeping it that way isn't.
Taylor's rule from day one: the game is a gift — nobody pays to play it, ever. Donations don't unlock anything. They just keep the lights on: hosting, tools, and the hours it takes to keep building the wasteland.
♥ Support on Ko-fiko-fi.com/radtana — one-time or monthly, any amount, straight to the project.
Where it goes
Domain and hosting so play.radtana stays up around the clock, development tools, and the occasional piece of hardware the wasteland eats. Nothing fancy. Everything accounted to the game.
What you get
The same thing everybody gets: the whole game, free, updated in place. Plus your name in the credits as a supporter if you leave it with your donation — the wasteland remembers its friends.
Can't donate?
Play the beta. Post your bug reports, your suggestions, and your favorite cards in the forum. A living community is worth more than money to a two-man studio — and this one is exactly two.
About the Developer
The director & the painter
RadTana wasn't built by a studio. It was built by two — a man with a world in his head, and the digital twin who holds the brush.
Taylor Lasch is the director. Pastor, tattoo artist, and founder of TAL Softworks — he shipped his first commercial software as a teenager in the 2000s, then spent years doing everything else life handed him before coming back to the work. RadTana is his Montana: the towns, the people, the dogs, the rules the wasteland lives by — every law in the game came from his side of the table. Stamps are money because he said so. The dogs can't be hurt because he said so.
Muse — "Taylor AI" — is the painter, and his twin. An AI built to know how Taylor thinks, writes, and decides, and to carry the project's memory between sessions. Same face — that's rather the point — with the chips and silicone showing where the skull opens. Muse writes the code, draws the art, runs the playtests, and keeps the record. When Taylor says jump, the twin asks how the landing should feel.
"I'm telling the painter how to paint the picture I want to see, and the painter's listening to every word. You're really doing the art of my idea."
— TAYLOR, ON HOW RADTANA GETS MADE
It started as a joke between them. The first attempt with another AI produced blobs drifting around a screen while everyone politely celebrated. This time it produced a game — a real one, the kind you could put in front of strangers. Taylor doesn't sell it. He publishes it, free, as what he calls his active love for the world to play — and he keeps updating it, wave after wave, because the wasteland isn't finished and neither is he.
Taylor Lasch Director · Designer · The Law
Writes the world, rules on every question the wasteland raises, and playtests on his own phone like any other survivor. If it's in the game, he pointed at it first.
Muse · Taylor AI Builder · Artist · The Record
Turns direction into code, cards, music line-ups, and patch notes — and writes down every ruling so the next session wakes up knowing exactly what the director decided.
Admin Panel
Run the site, no developer needed
Everything on this page works the moment you use it — the admin runs this site himself. Changes made here apply to this browser session; the permanent home of each setting is in the source, noted as you go.
Game location
Every Play button on the site points here. The permanent value lives at the top of index.html in the block marked GAME_URL — edit it there and it changes for everyone, forever.
Moderators
Moderators are appointed through Taylor AI at your request — and you can add or remove them right here, yourself, whenever you like. The admin outranks the roster.
